I kept listening for it, that metallic sigh, but instead you get these wet, slapping tentacle sounds that are way too loud in the mix. Like someone recorded a mop hitting a tile floor and just cranked the gain. It’s not bad, exactly, just... wrong. MrPloxy clearly spent time on the squelch foley but forgot the robot is supposed to be, you know, a robot. The servos don’t whine, the metal doesn’t groan. She’s just a girl in a silent shell getting wrecked by octopus limbs.

The tentacle penetration scenes have this suction noise that loops every three seconds. Once you hear the pattern, you can’t unhear it. Pop, squish, pause. Pop, squish, pause. It’s like a broken dishwasher. But the voice acting, if you can call it that, is just these breathy gasps that don’t sync with the animation at all. Peni’s mouth moves a full beat before any sound comes out. Drives me insane. I muted it halfway through and just watched, which honestly improved things. The actual visual design of the tentacles wrapping around her thighs, the way they leave these slick trails on the suit’s surface, that part works. The artist understands weight and tension. The sound designer understands neither.

There’s a moment where a thicker tentacle pushes against the SP//dr suit’s chest plate and the audio cue is literally just a stock door creak. A door. I checked my other tab thinking I left a horror game running. For a game tagged with “slave” and “tentacles,” you’d expect some darker ambient drones, maybe industrial clanks, something to sell the helplessness. Instead it’s dead air between those repetitive wet smacks. I wish the mech itself made more noise during the struggle, some kind of alarm or failing system beep. Would’ve added stakes. But it’s silent. Just Peni and the mop sounds.
