I keep coming back to that one scene with the mysterious woman, the one who shows up after the funeral the protagonist skipped. She's got this way of tilting her head that the Renpy engine renders just slightly wrong, like her neck is too long, but somehow that makes it hotter. The jank works for her. She's delivering all this exposition about his dead father, about mage killing, about how our guy has magic in his blood despite spending his whole life hating sorcerers. And the whole time I'm just staring at her tits. The character models in Sorcerer Slayer have this weird quality where the faces look like they were made in a different program than the bodies, and the bodies got all the budget. Not complaining.

The plot is basically "what if Harry Potter but everyone fucks" except the protagonist is an adult who's already established as a mage killer, and now he has to deal with suddenly being the thing he hunts. The internal conflict is there, I guess, but it mostly serves as a delivery mechanism for sex scenes. There's this one magic teacher character who shows up later, and her introduction involves a "training accident" that I'm pretty sure violates several workplace safety codes even by fantasy standards. The dialogue during that scene is so painfully earnest that I laughed out loud, then kept clicking anyway.

The game can't decide if it wants to be a parody or play it straight. One minute there's a dramatic revelation about the father's secret life, the next minute someone's robes are "accidentally" falling open. The pacing is like a party where someone keeps changing the music genre mid song. You're vibing to some fantasy intrigue and then suddenly it's a different kind of vibe entirely. I should hate how the magic system makes zero sense, how the protagonist's emotional journey gets interrupted by yet another conveniently timed wardrobe malfunction. But I finished it. All of it. Even the bonus scenes. The "sorcerer slayer" title becomes ironic pretty fast, which I think is the point, but who knows. Maybe I'm giving it too much credit. That one scene with the mysterious woman though. Worth the download just for her weird giraffe neck and those physics defying robes.
