The catgirl in the nurse outfit has fangs. Not just cute little canines, actual pointy teeth, and the dialogue box is asking if I want to check her "medical credentials" which is somehow the most honest thing this sequel has done so far.

Sex Kitten Sim-Date 2 picks up right after the first one with our hero waking up confused, which tracks because I'm confused too. The game runs on some sort of quest system where you collect... affection points? Stamina? There's a bar at the top I keep ignoring. What you actually do is talk to these neko girls who really need to unionize given how many scenarios they're throwing themselves into. The art is deliberately messy in a way I respect until I don't. Some expressions land so perfectly, like the tigergirl librarian's "I'm going to devour you" face, and then the next scene her hand is just slightly wrong in a way my brain won't stop fixating on. Reminds me of those old Newgrounds dating sims where you'd click through faster and faster hoping the next frame would be the one.

The humor here is doing some heavy lifting. Like when you fail a quest and the game basically calls you a virgin. Not with those words but the energy is there. The adult content doesn't pretend to be classy. You get exactly what the tags promise, no fake prestige TV drama about it. One minute a catgirl is making a pun about her tail, the next... well, you know. The writing sometimes throws in lines that feel like someone at 4chan circa 2016 got really into visual novels and I'm not sure if that's praise. The sex kitten turns out to be literally that. How does she keep getting into these situations.

What I actually want to talk about is the ear physics. They move independent of the hair and it's so unnecessary but I kept replaying scenes just to watch them twitch. There's probably a whole essay about furry animation techniques buried in this browser game. Anyway if this gets a DLC I want the nurse catgirl to have a backstory. Not a tragic one. Just explain the teeth.
