New quest log and I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing half the time. That's Pussymon for you. Episode 16 drops eight new areas and I spent maybe forty minutes just clicking on the same bush because the animation for one of the new creatures, this fluffy thing with ears that twitch when you interact wrong, kept looping and honestly I wasn't mad about it. The sprite work has that deliberate roughness, like someone drew it on a napkin then scanned it at too low a resolution, but the motion, the way the hips snap forward during the capture sequences, that's where the budget went. Ten new animations and you can tell which ones the dev stayed up late polishing.
Side quest triggered after I slept instead of fainting in battle. Important distinction. The game doesn't tell you this, you just wake up and there's a new marker on the map and some text that reads like it was translated through three languages then back. "Follow the tips in the quest log to know what to do next" is doing a lot of heavy lifting because the tips are things like "seek the wet place" and there are multiple wet places now. The new Pussymon designs lean harder into the furry side this time, one of them has this ridiculous tail that takes up half the screen during the interaction scenes, and the sound design, or lack of it, makes the whole thing feel like you're playing something you shouldn't have found.
The interface changes broke my muscle memory completely. Menus are in different spots now and I keep opening the inventory when I want to check skills. Six new skills and I've unlocked two because the requirements are cryptic. There's a new mechanic involving items I don't understand yet, something about feeding them during battle to change their form mid animation, and I triggered it once by accident and the result was so absurd I had to close the tab and stare at my wallpaper for a minute. Not in a bad way. The humor lands somewhere between intentional and "the dev gave up trying to make it coherent" and that's the charm. Or the curse. Depends on how much you've had to drink.
