I booted this up thinking I knew what I was getting into, right? Pokemon parody, some pixel waifus, whatever. But then Cynthia shows up and my brain just... short circuits. Her voice work, if you can call the grunts and moans that, it's this low, almost lazy drawl that somehow makes every battle command sound like a proposition. I spent maybe twenty minutes just losing to her on purpose. The turn based combat is whatever, standard stuff, but the real game is in the losing animations. That's not a complaint.

The sandbox structure means I wandered into Dawn's little side quest completely by accident. Her character model has these eyes that are way too big for her face, like a Bratz doll got lost in the tall grass, and the animation when you finally, uh, "catch" her is this jerky, looping thing that shouldn't work. But the voice actress commits so hard to this breathy, panicked whisper that I forgot the whole thing looks like a Newgrounds flash from 2005. I wish the Nessa encounter wasn't locked behind such a grind, but I'm not going back to farm those water types. The monster designs are just... they're there. I don't care.

There's this one scene with Misty where the audio mix is completely broken. Her dialogue is whisper quiet and then the squelching sound effect kicks in at max volume like a jump scare. I had to fumble for my headphones while my neighbor's dog started barking. It's a mess. A glorious, unpolished mess where the voice talent is clearly having more fun than the animators. The Milf tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting for Cynthia's character model, but honestly? The way she says "champion" during the climax scene rewired something in my brain. I've been using Duolingo to learn Sinnoh lore. Don't ask. It's not going anywhere.
