You know what's wild about Phoenix Wright parodies? They always nail the courtroom drama but completely miss the obvious joke that Maya's channeling abilities could get real freaky real fast. This one doesn't miss. At all.
The whole thing plays exactly like an Ace Attorney game except suddenly there's a tracking device called the WE-TRACK-U-5000 and you can spy on Maya whenever she's not standing next to you. And she gets up to some shit. I won't spoil it but let's just say the spirit medium training takes some unexpected turns when nobody's watching. The corruption tag isn't lying. There's this one scene where she's supposed to be investigating Bluecorp and instead she's getting absolutely railed in a supply closet while you're cross examining witnesses like a chump. The voyeur mechanic is basically the whole appeal. Point and click around, gather evidence, then switch to the tracker and watch your assistant's slow descent into being a total mess for corporate goons.
The trading card system is actually addictive though. Collecting lewd versions of all the Ace Attorney girls feels like gacha without the microtransaction hell. Franziska's card made me laugh out loud, she's holding her whip but not how you'd expect. Ema Skye's got one too where her scientific curiosity goes way beyond fingerprint dusting. Big tits everywhere obviously. It's a parody that knows exactly what it's parodying.
Wish the minigames were less janky though. The lockpicking one where you're supposed to jimmy open evidence lockers while Maya's tracker feed plays in the corner is a great concept but the hitboxes are drunk. Sometimes you click and nothing happens, sometimes you click and suddenly you've failed three times. Won't get fixed either, devs are too busy adding more OC characters. There's apparently some original Ace Attorney style girl coming in future updates which honestly I'd rather they polish what's already there. But whatever. The netorare stuff hits different when you're supposed to be solving crimes while your partner's getting corrupted by the very corporation you're investigating. Phoenix Wright out here objecting in court while Maya's learning to not object to anything at all.
