There's a stain on the counter at The Dented Kettle that won't come out no matter how hard Sable scrubs. I know because I spent fifteen actual minutes clicking between the rag and that fucking stain, convinced it was some kind of puzzle trigger. It wasn't. It's just a stain. That's the thing about this game, it gets under your skin with details that might mean everything or nothing at all.

Sable inherits her grandmother's diner and also apparently inherits some kind of supernatural bullshit that starts with flickering lights and ends with... well, I haven't figured out where it ends. The management stuff is straightforward enough, serve coffee, upgrade the grill, don't let the place fall apart. But then there's the futa content that sneaks up on you. Not in a jump scare way, more like a slow realization during a late-night encounter with a regular who's suddenly very interested in more than just the specials menu. The localization is mostly solid but there's this one recurring typo with "your" and "you're" that made me want to throw my monitor out the window. How does that slip through on a visual novel in 2024.

The erotic scenes hit different when you're not sure if the person you're fucking is entirely human or if the diner itself is somehow involved. And yeah, I said it, the diner feels like it's watching. There's this moment with Sable bent over the prep table after closing, and the text describes the walk-in cooler door swinging open by itself, and nobody acknowledges it, and I genuinely couldn't tell if that was a bug or the mystery element or just my imagination. The art during these scenes is unpolished in a way that somehow makes everything feel more intimate, like finding someone's sketchbook instead of a finished painting. Don't expect triple-A polish. Expect to feel vaguely unsettled while also being very turned on, which is apparently a combination this game has perfected without even trying.
