The visual novel format works against it sometimes. Clicking through text while a demon describes exactly how it's going to hollow you out and wear your skin loses tension when you're just tapping the screen waiting for the next CG. And the heterosexual scenes feel almost tame compared to everything else, like the writer got bored halfway through and just threw in some vanilla missionary with a succubus to meet a quota. The survival mechanics are barely there, mostly dialogue choices that either get you fucked literally or fucked metaphorically. I kept playing though.
