The first thing that hit me wasn't the mystery plot or the "unusual incidents" the description mentions. It was the deliberate jank. Like, someone made this knowing it looks rough around the edges, the 3DCG models have that slightly off stare, animations loop with a mechanical rhythm. And somehow that became the whole appeal? Tokyo college life sim where you're supposed to solve supernatural stuff, but I spent twenty minutes just walking into the konbini and leaving again because the door sound effect was weirdly satisfying.
The harem builds predictably. Mysterious girl descends, sure, but then there's the class rep who needs help with student council, the quiet one in the library who's into occult books, the energetic tomboy from the sports club. Standard setup. What got me was how the sandbox lets you just... ignore the plot. I had three "unusual incidents" stacking up in my quest log while I was busy figuring out which dialogue choices lead to the pov oral scenes. The animated sequences are surprisingly detailed for how unpolished everything else is. The creampie finish during the vaginal scene with the shrine maiden character caught me off guard because the transition from her serious fantasy lore dump to that was like whiplash. No fade out, no music change. Just suddenly explicit.
Wish the romance paths had more branching. Once you're on a girl's route, the others kind of fade into background NPCs, which feels weird in a harem tagged game. The fantasy elements get explained in these long text dumps that I definitely skimmed. Something about five incidents, a prophecy, Tokyo's spiritual ley lines. Whatever. The male protagonist is voiceless but his inner monologue during sex scenes is this mix of generic hentai dialogue and surprisingly poetic observations about the girl's expressions. That contrast stuck with me more than the actual plot.
The sandbox map is tiny. You can walk from your apartment to campus to the shopping district in like ten seconds. But I kept looping back to the ramen shop just to see if the background NPC would say something different. He never did. Still checked every time.
