You ever get that itch where you want something totally fucked up but also weirdly compelling? Was scrolling Nutaku, way past when I should've been doing expense reports, and tried Closure. Gotta say, the name is a lie, nothing ever feels closed or tidy in this one.
So Rob. He's a college kid, dirt poor, family basically ignores him for his sister after some weird parental drama. Typical setup. But then he goes to a poker game and holy shit, the bottom falls out. Next thing you know there's blood, people getting capped, torture. The tag says graphic violence and it means it, there's a scene early on where you're just staring at a body and the way the 3D models move makes it extra uncanny. The oral sex and vaginal sex scenes are animated with this janky framerate that somehow makes the ahegao faces loop in a hypnotic, terrible way I couldnโt look away from. I wish the harem building felt less like a checklist, but then Maya flashes this unhinged grin and I forget my complaint.
Hated the investigation parts at first. You just click around, talk to people who are all hiding something, and the criminal underworld they try to build feels like a B-movie. But then you interrogate a suspect and a woman offscreen is making these noises and the kink system, whatever it's called, lets you push someone into a situation that's... alarming. The whole thing with the mother and father not mattering, that whole plot thread just sort of dangles. I kept waiting for a payoff there. The male protagonist angle is standard, but Robโs a blank slate, just a randy void sucking up every violent and perverted opportunity. Oh, and one time a characterโs arm just clipped through a wall for a solid ten seconds during a serious torture info dump. Perfection. It's a dumpster fire but a specific, audacious one that knows it's not aiming for realistic.
