You know that feeling when you find a hentai game that looks like it was coded during a power outage but somehow still works? That's The Inn. The redhead tavern girl has this one expression that's supposed to be sad but looks more like she's trying to remember if she left the stove on. I couldn't stop staring at it. The whole thing has this janky charm, like someone's first RPG Maker project they were too horny to polish.
The story is this guy whose life is garbage, dad kicked him out at twenty, classic loser setup. Then he meets some dude who changes everything. 180 degree spin, they say. Very uplifting, they say. I'm sitting there clicking through dialogue boxes that look like they were typed on a phone from 2009 and honestly? The CG scenes hit different when you've been staring at the same three tavern backgrounds for twenty minutes. There's this one scene with the redhead where her hair clips through her shoulder and I laughed so hard I forgot what I was doing. The visual novel parts drag sometimes, like the writer just discovered ellipses and wants to use all of them. But then you get to the good stuff and suddenly you don't care about the typos anymore.
The fantasy adventure framing is basically an excuse to get the MC into situations. Standard tavern setting, some vague quest talk, then bam, here's a scene. The game knows what it is. I respect that. What I don't respect is how the text sometimes runs off the screen and I had to guess what the dialogue said. Like a horny choose your own adventure where the pages are stuck together. Still went back for the gallery unlock though. The redhead's other expressions are actually decent once you get past the first one. Or maybe I just got used to it. Whatever, it worked.
