Rhett’s got this stupid little smirk that makes you want to see him fail. Professional safe cracker, thinks he’s untouchable, and then officer Audra shows up looking like she stepped out of a late night cable movie where the budget ran out halfway through. The whole thing’s deliberately rough around the edges, like someone recorded their fantasy on a phone and uploaded it without checking the lighting. That’s the charm though. Lesson of Passion made this, same people who brought us those jerks games where everyone’s an asshole and somehow it works.
The maze minigame is actual garbage. There’s a skip button at the bottom and you should use it immediately, don’t even pretend you’re going to navigate that thing. The real game is in the conversation choices, which follow this weirdly specific path. You gotta pick 2, then 1-1, then 2-3, 3-4, 1-4, 2-2, 4-1, and then “Slip...” or you’ll just loop forever watching these two circle each other. Next conversation you pick the first two answers and end it. That’s it. That’s the secret. Miss one and you’re stuck in dialogue purgatory while Audra gives you that look. You know the one. Half annoyed, half something else.
Multiple endings apparently but I only found two before my browser crashed and I didn’t care enough to restart. The chase sequences feel like someone animated them in PowerPoint but the voice acting, if you can call it that, has this lo-fi ASMR quality. Like listening to a bootleg audio drama through a wall. Audra’s got these characteristics that shift depending on your choices, goes from hardass cop to something more complicated. The VIP angle shows up late and honestly I forgot it was even a tag until it happened. Wish there was more actual safe cracking instead of just talking about it but that’s not what we’re here for is it. The whole thing’s a mess but it’s my kind of mess. The kind where you know exactly what you’re getting and it delivers with zero pretense.
