The loading screen is a mess of clashing colors, like someone vomited a bag of skittles onto a pentagram. I mean that as a compliment. The music is this weird lo-fi beat that sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom, and it loops every forty seconds but somehow it gets under your skin in the right way. You're this magician guy, right, and you've landed in hell. Not the fire and brimstone hell, more like a bureaucratic hell with succubi who have paperwork problems.
The first puzzle had me clicking on a goat skull for ten minutes because the hitbox is about the size of a pixel. The goat skull bleats when you finally get it. That's the kind of detail that keeps you going. The dialogue is written by someone who clearly learned English from old forum posts and it's better for it. One of the girls says "your magic stick is very problem solving" and I don't know if that's intentional but it made me snort. The voice acting, if you can call it that, is just the developer making moaning sounds into a laptop mic. You can hear a car horn in the background of one scene. I rewound it three times.
The succubus with the glasses, the one who needs help with her "thermal regulation issues," has these animations that are so janky they loop back around to being hypnotic. Her breasts move like they have their own gravitational field. There's a moment where you solve a puzzle involving matching runes and she just... melts. The sound design here is just a stock squelch effect repeated at different pitches. It's perfect. The other girl, the one with the tail, has a quest that's basically a fetch quest but the item is inside a demon's stomach and you have to convince it to vomit. The vomit is just a brown square. I wish there was more of the hell bureaucracy stuff, the little window with the imp clerk who stamps your soul, but the game forgets about it after the first act. Typical.
