Nishi’s got that look, you know? Like a puppy who found a half-eaten sandwich and isn’t sure if it’s a gift or a trap. The whole game is just... her. Big brown eyes and a chest that the artist clearly spent extra time on, the kind of shading that makes you feel like a degenerate for staring. Which you will. The brunette hair physics, or lack thereof, it’s a static image mostly, but the way a single strand is drawn over her collarbone. I fixated on that for a weirdly long time. It’s a visual novel, so you’re reading. A lot. Like, a concerning amount of text about Japanese university life, and the Ctrl key becomes your best friend for the repeat runs because you will fuck up.
The choices feel like a trap laid by a smiling demon. First time through, I tried to be a gentleman, picking the nice options, and ended up watching her walk away with some generic dude. Brutal. The game doesn’t hold your hand. It just drops you in a campus full of bad decisions and says “figure it out, idiot.” The multiple endings thing isn’t a joke. You have to remember which specific, seemingly innocent dialogue choice from twenty minutes ago locked you into the “lonely failure” path. It’s less a branching story and more a memory test disguised as porn.
And the unpolished thing. It’s not a style, it’s a fact. The UI looks like a default RPG Maker menu had a baby with a spreadsheet. But somehow that jank makes the lewd scenes hit different. When you finally get one right, the sudden shift to a detailed, explicit CG of Nishi, all that built up frustration from the clunky menus just evaporates. The big tits are front and center, obviously, rendered with a glossy sheen that’s pure fantasy. The dialogue during these scenes is hilariously direct, no flowery metaphors, just pure, unfiltered “let’s get laid” energy. It’s like the game stops pretending to be a thoughtful story about university and just becomes what it always was. A very specific, very effective delivery system for one thing. The sound design is basically non-existent, just some looping royalty-free track that drills into your skull after ten minutes. I muted it and put on a podcast. Didn’t miss a thing. The whole experience is a mess, a glorious, horny mess that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t apologize for the typos.
