Okay so the first thing, the very first thing that hits you is the grind. Not the RPG kind, the mental one. Lumis is this Earth copy but wrong, all scrambled with Convergences that just vomit new chunks of world onto the map. You get isekai’d, classic truck-kun special I guess, but the “welcome hero” routine dies in the dirt pretty fast. There’s this monster girl encounter maybe ten minutes in, a Lamia, and she’s all scales and big tits and the POV when she coils around you is... something. The 2D animation is janky in a way I can’t stop thinking about, like someone rotoscoped a weird dream. The AI CG is honestly unsettling, which I think is the point, but sometimes a titfuck scene will start and the fingers are just slightly wrong enough to snap you right out of it. Or maybe that’s the horror tag working.

The real gut punch is the school setting bit. You find this academy, supposed to be a safe zone, and there’s a romance path with a professor, a real MILF type, stripping down for a “private lesson” that’s all handjobs and whispered incest fantasies that aren't even really hidden. The dialogue feels like a bad translation sometimes, or a really accurate one from a dying language. I spent way too long on the alignment system. Picking Order because it felt right, then the game just smirks and shows you a Balance choice that’s clearly the canon one, making you feel dumb for having a moral compass. The multiple endings thing isn’t really a promise, it's a threat. There’s a pregnancy mechanic later and I won't spoil how but it’s tied to a virgin sacrifice subplot that made me just sort of stare past my phone for a while. Oh, and the oral sex scenes, the sounds especially. Best Use of Uncomfortable Boners award. The grinding, god. It’s not about levels, it’s about how the game grinds you down until you’re agreeing with the Chaos gods because at least they’re honest about the groping. Wish the inventory screen had a sort button, it won't get one. Anyway the soundtrack loops over a scene where you’re having vaginal sex with an embodiment of the Convergence and the walls are bleeding and I think that’s the whole thesis of Luminary Protocol right there. Solid maybe six thumbs up, none of them human.
