The dad’s voice actor. That’s where I got stuck. Not on the whole multiverse thing, not on the daughter’s weirdly specific knowledge of quantum entanglement, but on the dad. He’s got this delivery, right? Like he’s reading a grocery list while his family’s atoms are being scattered across dimensions. And I couldn’t stop laughing. The game, ALT CTRL DEL, it’s a 3DCG thing about a scientist who fucks up and drags his wife, his jock son, and his genius daughter through parallel worlds. The wife is affection deprived, which is code for she’s going to end up in situations. You know the ones. The son is there too, and the whole setup is just a delivery system for incest and voyeurism, but the humor is so dry it almost parodies itself.

The sound design though. That’s my thing. I obsess over it. The wet, sticky noises during a scene with the mom in the first universe, it’s like someone’s stirring a pot of thick stew. Too much reverb. It’s in a lab, why does it sound like a cave? I spent ten minutes just clicking the same option to hear the squelch again, trying to figure out if it’s a stock effect from some mobile game asset pack. It probably is. The exhibitionism bits, where the daughter is... performing, the ambient crowd noise is a flat loop that cuts off abruptly. No fade. Just a hard cut. Drove me nuts. But then the voice work for the son, when he’s being corrupted, has this breathy, close mic’d quality that’s genuinely good. You can hear the spit in his mouth. It’s intimate and gross and perfect for the tone.

Then you jump to a universe that’s a crossover with another game from the same dev, and the audio mix completely changes. The bass is bloated, the dialogue is tinny. It’s like they forgot to master it. The romance path with the mother, which is a slow burn of her realizing her son is... well, you get it, has these long silences where you just hear the hum of a spaceship engine. That hum is the best sound in the whole game. A low, warm, analog thrum. I’d let that hum corrupt me. The multiple protagonists thing means you get scenes from the dad’s perspective too, a DILF watching his family fall apart, and his internal monologue is mixed way too low. I had to crank my volume, and then a sudden sex scene with the daughter blasted through my speakers. My neighbor probably thinks I’m into some very specific, very loud family drama. The game’s a mess, a funny, horny, audio disaster. I’ve already started another playthrough.
